Who we are

CAMO is a non-profit organization that regulates amateur mixed martial arts and Pankration competition in California. This policy describes what information we collect through camomma.org, why we collect it, and how we handle it.

What we collect

• Registration and licensing information: name, date of birth, contact details (email, mobile phone, address), emergency contact, physical attributes required for a license, license applications and disclosures, and — where required for your role — identity documents and a headshot photo.
• Medical and safety records required for competition licensing, such as blood work and physician clearances, handled confidentially and used only for regulatory purposes.
• Payment details: payments are processed by Stripe. CAMO never sees or stores your card number.
• Usage information: standard technical logs (such as IP address and pages visited) used to operate and secure the site.

How we use it

We use your information to process license applications and renewals, sanction and run events, maintain the fight records and safety suspensions that amateur MMA regulation requires, process payments, and communicate with you about your license, events, and safety notices.

Text messaging (SMS)

With your consent, collected when you provide your mobile number during registration, CAMO sends text messages about your license and renewals, event assignments and schedules, safety notices, and payment requests. Members who separately opt in may also receive occasional CAMO news and event announcements. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.

When we share information

CAMO does not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that operate parts of the platform on our behalf (payment processing, text and email delivery, electronic signatures, identity verification), with regulators or authorities where the law requires it, and as part of the public regulatory record — for example, licensed fighter records and active safety suspensions, which amateur MMA regulation requires to be visible to event officials and the public.

Security and retention

Information is stored with access controls that limit each role to what it needs, and sensitive records are restricted to CAMO administrators. We retain licensing and regulatory records for as long as regulation requires; you may contact us about correcting or removing information that is no longer required.
